Running a homestead is fulfilling and satisfying, but it’s not necessarily cheap. Feed and grocery bills will add up quickly, equipment is expensive, animals get sick, there’s always something around the house that needs to be repaired, cars break down, and the list goes on.
By nature, I’ve always been frugal. Some would go so far as to call me “cheap”. It’s not that I won’t buy things that are needed, it’s more so that I avoid paying full price for anything if possible, and work to save what I can, where I can. This could be as simple as turning old clothing into rags, stocking up on an often used product when it’s on sale, or repurposing an old item for a new and different use.
We all love to save a bit of money where we can, so Fridays are the perfect day to share a frugal tip that we use to keep our homestead running, without completely emptying our pockets.
